If you cannot complete this mission for 4 days, you can still complete the quest, but will not get Pet Bird.
Here's how to complete Bird Feeding Quest The Sims Freeplay
Search a tree at a house for birds *8 hours 30 minutes = click on a tree near your house, select "look for bird in tree".
Read birdhouse illustrated magazine *1 day = click magazine, select "birdhouse illustrated"
Read an encyclopedia *3 hours 10 minutes = click the bookshelf, select "encyclopedia".
Grow pumpkins *1 day = plant pumkin. (can be done earlier)
Bake pumpkin pie *10 hours = click the stove, select bake, select "pumpkin pie". (can be done earlier)
Throw seeds at park water fountain *6 minutes = click the fountain in the city park, select "scatler seed".
Throw seeds at swim center *6 minutes = go to swim center, click X, select "scatler seed".
Search a tree at the swim center for birds *16 hours 30 minutes = click the tree around the place (swim center), select "search for birds".
Call a friend *4 minutes = click telephone, select "call a friend".
Watch osiris with a telescope in the park *7 minutes = click the telescope in the city park, select "watch oiris".
Watch news on tv *4 minutes = click TV, select "Watch News".
Be nice to a sim *1 minute = click on another sim, choose "be nice".
Go bird spotting on a park bench *22 hours = Order sim to visit the city park. Click the park bench, select "All night birds spotting".
